If every school would have a very advanced technological equipment, then there would be more graduates and less drop outs. According to various websites technology does help a student learn more. Modern schools should have a good set of technological equipment for learning.
Technology can offer students and teachers many different way to learn and teach. It is very clear that every student learns in their own way. Students learn better by doing exercises than by doing bookwork. This is something that technology can provide us with. For example a computer can have many different educational activities for a student to complete. Everyone learns in their own way. For example like Galilei said, "You cannot teach a person anything;you can only help him find it within himself" (1998). Perhaps showing somebody the process to learning something and then give him the chance to do it on his own could be more helpful for the student. A student could learn more by doing something on his own.
Some people might say that technology isn't so benefit to a school because it reduces the school budget or simply because the school can't afford it. Those people need to know that it is worth spending that kind of money because technology can get you faster and direct information. Plus the technology is for the students so it's like investing in students. This has tot do a lot with the quote that Piaget said, "The principle goal of education is to create men and women who are capable of doing new things, not simply repeating what other generations ahve done"(2001). When a teacher helps a student learn something he/she can help him/her to be different from others, to not do the same things other have done, and to make different things that can help education and you.
This process is worth it because it is for our future. A student can learn a lot from computers, smartboards, or a simple overhead and like France said, "An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know, it's being able to differentiate between what you know and what you don't"(2003). The results of all this would be that students could get higher grades, be smarter, and get better jobs in the future. The technology that we have right now is the bass for the future. In the future there will be better technology and this will make it even easier for students to get a good education.
In conclusion if schools use advanced technology then there would be more students graduating and less drop outs. A computer can replace a book or like Thornburg said, "Any teacher can be replaced by a computer"(2004). A good computer can take a teacher's place. So this is what technology is capablle of doing.
